Tips for Desk Workers to Relieve Pain

Working at a desk all day long can be tiresome, boring, and straining on your body.

For many desk workers, you may not move out of your chair for hours. This may result in muscle tension, tightness, and stiffness along with pain. That’s why it’s important to move around, even for just a few minutes, during your work day — so that you can stimulate your muscles and joints.

In this blog, we’ll talk about a few tips and exercises you can do at home during your work day that will help with pain.

Tips to Relieve Your Pain While You’re Working

1. Adjust your computer or desktop screen

Many times when we are working on our computers or laptops, they are adjusted way too high or too low. The ideal adjustment would be to move your computer to eye level, so that you’re not straining your neck by looking up or down. This can also help improve your posture and ultimately make it more comfortable for you while working.

2. Take breaks

One of the most important, yet forgettable, things to do as desk workers is taking a break. Sometimes you can get so caught up and comfortable at your desk at home that you don’t even realize you haven’t moved in hours. It’s important to take breaks every once in a while, and to get up and stretch your body. Not only will you feel instant relief, but it’ll help prevent further stiffness and pain. Standing up and taking a walk even for a few minutes can make all the difference.

3. Do daily exercises

Simple exercises can go a long way, especially if your day consists of sitting at your desk for long periods of time. Easy regular exercises can help improve your range of motion and posture. There’s no need to go to the gym and do intense workouts to stimulate your body, so try to do a few minutes of stretching and exercise to help you improve your mobility during your work day.
